Bohemian Styled Backyard Wedding

Carly and Jeff had the most beautiful Bohemian Styled Backyard Wedding in the Snoqualmie Valley. These two set their wedding date for 6.24.2017, but that quickly changed when they realized they wanted to get married right away. I’m so happy the way things fell into place for them, and thankful I was available for their new wedding date! Here are a few words from the Bride about their gorgeous Bohemian Styled backyard wedding.

We didn’t want a big wedding, but it was important to us that we were able to share the day with the people we love, and love us the most. We wanted it to be intimate, like a big dinner party with great food and great drinks, and we wanted it outdoors because being outside is a big part of who we are. We decided to have the wedding at my (the brides) parents house in the Snoqualmie Valley where I grew up. Our wedding was the perfect blend of each of our individual backgrounds and personalities. For Jeff (army vet and director at nike in Portland) it was all about bringing in a little America! Hearty food, good music (the bride walked down the aisle to “all of my love by led zeppelin”) cigars and bourbon, bonfires and a three piece suit. For the bride, it was all about the flowers (or should I say greenery), bohemian style, long community dinner tables, signature cocktails, dancing, and bringing in eclectic details that would create an ambience and setting that perfectly represented who we are. Our wedding was a true labor of love. From the handmade macramé, to the place settings, so much time and effort went into seeking out every plate, linen, fork, vase, you name it. A favorite movie of my mom, sister and I’s is “Mama Mia”. We drew a lot of inspiration for the dinner and reception from that film. The only things we rented were card tables for dinner and the chairs, everything else we collected along the way. Nothing at our wedding matched, but it all came together perfectly. !

Sit back and settle in folks, this is a long one that your not going to want to miss! Thank you Carly and Jeff for trusting me to document your incredible wedding day! I feel so lucky I was able to witness your lovexoxo

My favorite photos from a wedding day are almost always the ones we take when we sneak away during sunset. It’s not just a time to make some gorgeous images, but a time for the two of you to soak it all in. Take a breath, be together, and reflect on the events that brought you to this exact moment. It’s also a perfect time to get that one last dance practice in before your first dance:)
